YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING

For Girl Guides Association

Sponsored by the Cable & Wireless Toastmasters Clubs

Members may enhance their leadership skills by assisting with planning of, and facilitation in, the Youth Leadership Programs.

§         In January 2005, a 6-8 week Youth Leadership training workshop will be conducted for a group of twenty-five (25) young people from the Girl Guides Association and for Cable & & Wireless (Barbados) Ltd. youth.

The training for the Girl Guide Association is expected to be an annual event, for the members of the Girl Guides Junior Council.

For the C&W Youth Program, members of staff will be invited to register members of their families under 18 years of age to attend Youth Leadership Training.

§         A second Youth Leadership Training program is proposed for students of Secondary Schools. Each school would be invited send at least two students to the training.  The training would culminate in a speech contest to be televised.  The club is discussing sponsorship of this program by C&W Barbados.

Objective

The objective of the workshop was to assist members of the Junior Council  and Youth Leaders of the Girl Guide Association to enhance their communication and leadership skills.

The Program
